ImPACT Information for Parents and Student-Athletes

ALL GHS athletes must have a valid ImPACT baseline on file in order to clear an athletic packet.

ImPACT is a sophisticated, research based computer test developed to help clinicians evaluate and manage recovery following concussions. Prior to clearing for a sport, athletes are given a baseline test. When a concussion is suspected a follow-up test is administered to see if the results have changed from baseline. This helps clinicians diagnose and manage concussions. ImPACT helps clinicians answer the difficult questions about an athlete's readiness to return to play.

CIF/ CCS Return to Play Protocols

Starting in January 2015 - AB2127 went into affect and MANDATES a gradual return to play after suffering from a concussion. This return to play protocol must take a MINIMUM of seven days to complete. You will find the CIF/CCS return to Play Protocol Sheet that athletes must complete under the supervision of either the Athletic Trainer or the Athletic Director in the forms section of this page.

Transfer Eligibility

A student who participates in an interscholastic athletic contest or attends a school shall be considered enrolled in that school and shall be classified as a transfer student if the student subsequently enrolls at another school.  Please review the handbooks on the CIF website to understand transfer eligibility process and procedures.
